Day 1

“Wisdom shouts in the street… She lifts her voice in the square” (1:20)

Can you hear her?

“At the head of the noisy streets she cries out…. she utters her sayings” (1:21)

Are you listening for her? Looking for her in the hustle and bustle of this life?

Life can get busy, this year can get busy… and sometimes we just run out of time to listen, to pursue, to go after, to grab a hold of wisdom.

Life can deceive us into thinking we have all the wisdom we need. So we do not go after it… for we know it.

Wisdom is always crying out in the hustle and bustle of life. It is crying out to jar us our of our deception, move us out of our pride. It is trying to make us reflect on what we are doing. It is trying to get us to reflect on the path we are taking so we do not ruin our lives.

We just have to be humble enough to listen and pursue the wisdom that is there waiting to be heard and lived.

“But he who listens to me shall live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil” (1:33)

Live securely…

Be at ease…

Are you listening?

I am excited that we are taking this journey together this month through the book of proverbs. As we read let’s be sure to listen from our hearts to what God is saying to us through his book. Do not fall into the trap of thinking of others (we can all list foolish people) for that would be folly. But open your heart to hear the practical instructions from what we read.

Listen… Wisdom is crying out to you… will you pursue her?

Now… What jumped out at you from your reading today?
