Day 2

31 day Challenge

(Proverbs 2)

Receive and Treasure

It’s one thing to receive something unlooked for and another when you receive something you have diligently sought for…

its means more…

its a Treasure.

If we seek for wisdom and instruction like we would search for a hidden treasure of silver and gold, we will wind up finding it and becoming rich in ways money can’t provide.  It would keep us from evil, from heading down the wrong path and from those who would take us there.

But to seek means to look, not for conformation for what you want to do, but for instruction concerning what to do.

To seek means to look, not for thoughts you had yesterday but for instruction and understanding for where those thoughts have brought you today.

To seek means to look, not for concepts and more catch phrases about God, but to know God better personally, to be still and listen for His instruction.

to seek means to ask God…

What do I need to learn to day?

What wisdom do I need to hear?

Please show me that Lord, open my eyes and ears. I want to receive it….

for it is a treasure that is beyond my years…

a light to my path which keeps me out of the dark.”

What did you see in the passage today?  What verse stood out to you?

  1. “For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.” Proverbs 2:6-8

  2. This stands out to me… Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; (Proverbs 2:9 ESV)

It stand out to me as a building block on yesterday. You can’t understand until you listen AND really understand the basics so that you can build on it and understand the more complex concepts. It’s like school, you can’t jump right into statistics and never have basic math. It’s all foreign until you build on it. Same applies here. God seems to be saying, it’s all right here, always has been, you just have to listen and learn and then you will understand…..
