Prayer Take 19/40

– Matthew 5:3-10

This is one of my favorite passages of scripture.  It is the announcement of the Gospel to people who desperately need to hear it.

Blessed are those who feel like they are worthless because society has pushed them down.

Blessed are those who have found themselves in situations of sorrow.

Blessed are the ones who feel like they do not have the strength or ability to win or accomplish anything.

Blessed are those who find themselves unsatisfied with the way things are

Blessed are those who care and get used because of it

Blessed are those who live just as they were created

Blessed are those who find themselves in the middle of it, and they desire peace for those surrounding them

Blessed are those who get smacked down because they follow God

Blessed are those who find themselves in losing situations…

for they are not losers…

they are something more…

They are Heirs to God’s kingdom.

They are the ones He comforts

They are the ones who “get ” the earth

They are the ones who are satisfied

They are the ones that receive mercy

They are the ones that can see God

They are the ones that are blessed.

Not because they have chosen to be poor in spirit, sorrowful, etc…

But because God has chosen to meet them in the mess of their unfortunate situations.

And He announces that those circumstances will not be what makes and molds you…

That’s His job…

and our circumstances do not have the right to mold us into something…

only He does.

– So today pray that God will speak to your neighbors where they are, if they are sorrowful, down and out, and feeling like they are worthless, Pray that God will intervene in their life in such away He shows them they are worth something to Him.

– Pray for yourself and other Christians that we would not be afraid to spread the message of the gospel to those around us.  That we would not be afraid to share that good news with those around us.
