I desire to be a part of something that lasts.
It would be great if by the time I die we would see the landscape of American culture drastically change for the better, that it would turn from its current direction to a focus on God.
I am not sure how to do that… but in my mind there are a few plans we could do to help turn the tide of godlessness back to Godliness.
They are good plans
some are in motion
others are just ideals
most I’m not even sure if they will work
but more importantly
some of the plans I have I am not sure they are God’s…
at least I do not have that answer yet.
But here is what I know…
its what jumped out at me from the passage today.
“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand” (19:21)
If my plans are part of God’s overall purpose,
If the plans truly did come from Him and they are part of His grand design,
then they will last….
beyond us.
His plans will stand.
But if it is just my plans, my will, or my way…
even if they are accomplished,
it’s like throwing grass to the wind.
I want to be a part of what God is doing in the world today. I desire for His plans to be my plans.
It’s the only way to be a part of something that…
lasts.
