Prayer Take 28/40

Our church praying for 40 days for our Take It to the Streets Ministry.  Each day will have a scripture reading, a list things to pray for and I will write a quick devotional thought from the day’s passage.  The schedule is not original with us but is built off of YouVersion’s Bible App.

– Hosea 4:1-3

Sin has an effect on the environment that surrounds it.

For instance….

Here recently my wife and I were looking for a car at night…

you know “after dark”.

During this time we avoided some car lots that were on a street in our city that has “gentlemen’s” clubs and bars intermingled between the car lots.   It seems that those types of places aways produce bad environments and an increase in Crime.

So we went to an area that was a bit safer. (We also had our kids with us) It was an area with a McDonalds, other types of resturants and stores. An area that had a lower crime rate.

This is what this text is about. Sin and its damaging effects on the environment we live in.  Certain types of activities and businesses produce certain types of environments. Some have a positive effect on their surroundings while others do not.

This also goes for your home and your neighborhood. How you live determines how good or bad your neighborhood will be.

So, what type of environment do you live in? Is it good or not so good?

What type of enviroments do your neighbors live in?  Are they good or not so good?

Today pray that changes will be made in people’s lives in your community that would produce positive circumstances for all of us to live in

Pray that the people in your  neighborhood would not participate in sexual sins in all of its forms (not that you know this about them but that God would prevent it from happening)

Pray for your neighbors to find Christ and began a relationship with Him so that all their past sins would be forgiven and would no longer have a hold on their lives.

Pray for Take 5.2 that God would protect us from the attacks of the evil one.
