I will not lie to you, I like sitting on the beach. (I am not at the beach right now… but I like it none the less). I like doing something and it just falls into place. I like it when there is no resistance, and things happen. Times of no pain and no frustration. Times of acceptance.
I like a life of ease… who doesn’t?
Today during sermon prep time, this verse caught my attention…
“You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.” Matthew 10:22
Honestly, its not a popular verse for me, not something that is a goal of mine. It is hard for me to say “OK, let do this!” or “so be it”. The fact is, to be hated by all is not on my top 10 list of things to accomplish.
My prayer is we will never see the days that are described here, and that our children will not see them either. But if we do… and that is God’s will, then my prayer is, we will grab on to the strength that enables us to stick to our faith and enables us to be great representatives of Him.
But until then, I am thankful for the freedom we do have in this country to believe and worship freely… a privilege I pray, we will continue to take advantage of… it is a gift that is available only for a limited time.
Let’s make the most of it!
