As a leader 11:14 jumped out at me today. “Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory”
This verse made me reflect on my leadership at Farmington Baptist, am I giving guidance to the people who come here to church? Do they leave each week knowing how to live their lives differently? As a church do the people know what we are about and do they really know where we are going? Am I giving the right type of guidance?
This verse also made me reflect on my leadership as a husband and father. Am I giving my children the right kind of guidance? Am I guiding them at all? Do I provide the right type of guidance for my wife? Am I doing everything in my power to set my family up for success in the future? Am I lacking in any area in my guidance? This is important because…
“Where there is no guidance the people fall…”
It also made me ask… who do I have as counselors around me that I look to for wisdom? How many can I list?
I don’t know about you but I have a tendency to go it alone and “trust in my own understanding” to get me through the day. So the question for us is..
Do we have people around us giving “wise” guidance? If not failure is in our future, but if we do, victory will be a leading characteristic of our lives.
“in the abundance of counselors there is victory.”
