Tomorrow, I will begin reading the Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. The plan is to read a chapter a day through the month of October. On some of the days my plan is to post a blog that relates to the reading on that day. The post will hopefully be up by mid-afternoon.
But we will see how that goes…
Here is a brief description of the book from Amazon
“The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that entertains readers with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to “Our Father Below.” At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation—and triumph over it—ever written. “
Another description at study.com says this….
“In The Screwtape Letters, a senior demon named Screwtape provides advice to his young nephew Wormwood about how best to lead his human ”patient” to damnation. In his letters, Screwtape refers to God as the ”Enemy” and to Satan as ”Our Father,” which is the inverse of how Christians refer to God and Satan.”
It will be a fun read, one that will make you think and will help you with not only temptation but help you realize at a deeper level the war that is going on for your soul that you can’t see. Here on this blog we will add some scriptures to tie the story to the Bible. The Posts will be called “The Playbook”
It should be fun!
