Our church praying for 40 days for our Take It to the Streets Ministry. Each day will have a scripture reading, a list things to pray for and I will write a quick devotional thought from the day’s passage. The schedule is not original with us but is built off of YouVersion’s Bible App.
– Hebrews 12:2
It is sometimes a struggle for us to know exactly what and how we should pray for our community. We are not assuming that just because we are praying that everything in our community will get better…
for sometimes even when people are praying things get much worse.
Just ask Jesus…
Who prayed many times while He was ministering here on the earth only to have some of the people He prayed for nail Him to a cross.
What if our praying lead to more hardship?
It’s not what we desire, it isn’t what we want but it could happen.
What would we do then?
Well, we would do what we are doing now… we would fix our eyes on Jesus and stay faithful to Him in order to see God’s will accomplished…
and that means enduring or enjoying whatever may come as a result of His will unfolding before our eyes.
– Today pray that “whatever” may come our church will stay faithful to Christ, His mission and His Word.
– Pray making a commitment to Christ to fix you eyes on Him
– Pray for your neighborhood with any request God lays on your heart concerning your neighbors and friends.
– Today is Take 13! Pray that we reach many people as we travel to their neighborhoods, giving out candy and inviting them to church.
