and now we are going to see her graduate

planning a graduation party for her at our house

a time where she lived with us

and was with us

everyday

but that wasn’t just yesterday

I look at

her smile

the light in her eyes

the excitement she projected

it seems like just yesterday

but it wasn’t

She was 8

now she’s not

in Cincinnati Ohio

I held her for the very first time

but it wasn’t

for here soon she will graduate from college

she now has a life of her own

for today is different

than yesterday

where we were with her all the time

and now

not as much

which is what happens

And a desire

to see her

as much as
