Day 25 – Proverbs 25

Who influences you the most?

Chances are it is the group of friends you run with. Take a moment to think about the people you are around, are they moving you toward God or away from Him?

This was important to King Hezekiah, so much so He had some men write down these words that were past to him from King Solomon so he would not forget them and always be aware of who he had around him…

“Take away the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established in rightesouness. (25:5)

Here’s the deal…

Bad people influence and push us to make bad decisions.

Good people influence and push us to make good decisions.

Godly people influence and push us to make the right choices in our lives and when we are making the right choices; righteousness is established as our character and we find ourselves closer to God.

When a King, president, congressman pushes wicked people out of their lives their governance is established in righteousness.

This also is true of you and I.

When we decide to take the ungodly influences out of our lives, we will then become established in righteousness.

It’s the best thing for our marriages, it’s the best thing for our kids, it’s the best thing for our community, it’s the best thing to do for the improvement of our morality.

So think it through, are their people that you are hanging around that are bad influencers? If so make a choice today to steer clear of them and you will find you are in a better place in the future as a result of that change.

What did you see front he passage today?
