Is the work of God killing you?

I am asking this question to you… if you are a pastor, youth worker, elder, deacon, church attender, believer, etc… whoever it may be…

Is the work of God killing you?

This is not the way it is supposed to be… the work God has for you to do was never meant to be more than you can bear, He promises that. Therefore, God’s work that He has given to you to do isn’t what is killing you… its something else.

So what is it… the one thing that is really killing you?

Could it be something… like an addiction?

Are you addicted to productivity?

An addiction to productivity will kill the work of God with in you. You see, God hasn’t called us to be more productive, He has called us to be healthy.

How is your walk with God? Are you taking time with Him? Is your spiritual life healthy? How about your family life? Are you spending time with your family? Are you taking time with them or has the desire to be productive turned into an addiction and now you are neglecting them…

Like a guy that is drunk or stoned…

God can’t work in you while productivity is the god you are worshiping. Your children will not know you as long as you love production more than them. Your marriage will not be what it should be when you are more dedicated to production than you are to your spouse.

But, maybe its something else…

Are you addicted to perfection? Is that the one thing that is killing you?

An addiction to perfection will kill the work of God with in you. You see God hasn’t called us to perfection, He has called us to be healthy and being healthy leads to holiness.

It is easy to become addicted to perfection… Lord knows there are enough people that are more than willing to criticize and in every good leaders there is a strong desire to do it right, to do our best so it will not be our fault if the church doesn’t succeed. The end game of this addiction is we lose.

We were not called to do everything perfectly… the call is to be healthy.

You should be getting it by now.

The work of God is not killing you… its something else. So what is it? What are you addicted to?
